Termite Treatments
Our Termite Treatment Plans are the best way to take action against a termite infestation. As not all homes are constructed the same, treatment solutions are not all the same.
We treat active Termites with a solution that best suits your individual situation.
Baiting and Monitoring Programs
- In-ground termite monitoring and baiting
This plan is a form of prevention and treatment. It involves the use of In-ground Termite bait stations strategically placed around the building that requires protection. The stations are then regularly monitored, maintained and inspected for termite activity.
These baits are exactly that “bait”, we use nutrient rich timbers inserted inside to attract foraging termites into the stations, once activity is detected we add a bait solution that is eaten by the Termites. The termites spread this throughout the colony, eliminating all of them.
The bait used is 100% safe and non-toxic to Humans or Pets, however if you’re a Termite, you are in trouble.
This system is good for some construction types that a Liquid Chemical Barrier cannot be installed, or as an addition to a part chemical barrier. Either way piece of mind is assured
- Above ground baiting
Above ground baiting stations are used when active termites have been found either inside or outside a building and need to be treated to eliminate the infestation. The Above ground bait boxes are installed where activity exists and the baiting solution is added immediately, the Termites will consume the bait and eliminate themselves. Once this is done the repair of any damage that may exist can be repaired.
- Physical Barrier, Termite proof material
We use physical barrier termite treatments for termite protection in new construction projects. The physical products are integrated into the structural elements of the building to create a complete and continuous barrier.
- Liquid chemical barrier
Chemical Barriers are designed to create a continuous barrier around the perimeter of the building in an attempt to reduce the risk of concealed entry. This is achieved by creating a trench around the house in soil areas and treating with a chemical emulsion, then back filling the trench with soil and treating the soil until the desired height is achieved. Where concrete is installed against the building holes need to be drilled through the concrete and the chemical is injected into the zone under pressure (ideally concrete should be cut).
There are a number of chemical options available these days, the repellent chemicals which repel termites from the concealed entry points and force them out into the open where they can be detected with a termite inspection or by the occupier seeing the mud tubes.
Non-Repellent chemicals, which allow the termites to travel through the chemical unaware that they are transferring the poison onto themselves, then to the others and eventually the nest.
As with all liquid treatment there is a limited life span for all treatments, once this has been reached a new barrier is considered essential to ensure the protection continues.
These options can be discussed when the need arises.
